This footage was caught on January 25th, 2012 in the backcountry near Montezuma. It features Pro Snowboarder Meesh Hytner being caught in a sizeable (~class 3) avalanche and deploying her BCA Float 30 avalanche airbag before taking a long ride. I think we can call this a win :)

Heath Frisby lands the first Snowmobile Front Flip in competition EVER!
Even with a bum ankle, Shaun White still dominated the competition in Superpipe at the 2012 X Games, winning his fifth-straight gold medal in the event. White scored a 94.00 on his first run, wrapping up the gold before his third and final run of the night.
But on his final run, White didn’t just ride it out. Instead, he scored a perfect 100, finishing off the X Games in style. Not a bad way for the Superpipe champ to go out at this year’s event.

Sarah Burke (September 3, 1982 – January 19, 2012) was a Canadian freestyle skier who was a pioneer of the superpipe event. She was a four-time Winter X Games gold medalist, and won the world championship in the halfpipe in 2005. She successfully lobbied the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to have the event added to the Olympic program for the 2014 Winter Olympics. She was considered a medal favourite in the event. Burke died following a training accident in Utah. R.I.P.
